My Hurricane 04:39

about

Hello there, friends. My name's Michael McFarland, and I've lived my whole life in or around the college town of Kent, Ohio. I've spent the past 11 years performing, recording & touring with various bands from around the area.

During the summer of 2010 I experienced the first great loss of my life, and when I finally composed myself enough to start writing music again, the songs that poured out just didn't seem to fit within the framework of my band - and besides, we already had more than enough material written to fill out another album.

At midnight on September 15, upon arriving home after an unplanned open mic night appearance, I sequestered myself at Spontaneously Combustible Studio, and 5 days later emerged with a 6-song EP, entitled "Made a Mess."

These songs may not be the most unique, clever, or innovative. The recordings may not be the most polished. My voice may sound raw. And while I hope you love my songs, if you don't, that's ok too. Seasons change, life goes on... but it's quiet now in the eye of my hurricane.
